Tacori: Behind the Brand

Haig and Gilda Tacorian’s jewelry empire origin story begins in Communist Romania where Gilda’s father, Harry Balian, was a jeweler who was ordered to turn in all currency and precious metals by the government. Balian even got in trouble with the law for crafting a gold wedding ring for a friend. That’s how deep the family’s artisan roots ran.

The Balian family emigrated to the United States in the 1960s. Haig, Gilda’s husband, emigrated in 1970 and joined the family business to create inspired jewelry designs. Haig and Gilda started up their own jewelry business, Tacori, and introduced the iconic crescent silhouette design, representing the top portion of a heart.

Today, Tacori’s bridal and fashion jewelry collections are beloved by antique and modern jewelry lovers alike. Tacori incorporates classic and romantic details from yesteryear with modern metals and high-tech design equipment to push the limits of jewelry-making.

The Dantela Bridal Collection

Tacori’s Dantela bridal collection features heirloom-style engagement rings and wedding bands. The Dantela collection was a departure from Tacori’s traditional styles, but has become a wildly popular collection among many women.

Tacori never forgets where they came from. “Dantela” is Romanian for “lace.” This collection features lacey and dainty details along with an accent bloom that draws in more light to the center diamond. Check out this collection in person for the spotlight diamonds that add extra depth and dimension to your center stone, making it appear considerably larger.

The RoyalT Bridal Collection

Each engagement ring and wedding band in Tacori’s RoyalT bridal collection is fit for royalty. You’ll be able to fit show-stopping diamonds 2 carats and larger. Larger diamonds means more sparkle and brilliance. You don’t have to stick with a gold setting, either. The RoyalT collection comes in platinum, as well as 18K rose and yellow gold.

If the RoyalT collection looks familiar, it’s because it is. The Tacori design team elevated the most popular designs from all of their collections. Each design was given more exquisite detail and larger diamonds to really draw the eye to these magnificent pieces.

Their Ivy Lane fashion collection is inspired by the famous Los Angeles celebrity hideout, The Ivy restaurant. Its country cottage vibe inspired this bold and sleek collection featuring the following pieces:

The Ivy Lane fashion collection evokes an unparalleled elegance with signature Tacori crescent designs. Accent diamonds add a twinkling detail that doesn’t overshadow the collection’s sharp and curved shapes. Innovative shapes and designs are underscored by a warm silver, yellow, or rose gold hue.
